A Prairie Trilogy: The Urban Forests of Morris, Minnesota

A Brief History and Description of the urban forests of Morris, Minnesota.

Morris, Minnesota is home to a diverse and well maintained urban forest. The city has had a long history of growing and maintaining urban trees which has led to its current devotion to ensuring diversity, protecting established trees, and undertaking various programs to continue to plant and maintain young trees for the future. The towns urban forest blends seamlessly with similarly established and maintianed trees on the University of Minnesota campus there. Horticultural trial gardens surrounded by many species of established trees can also be found at the West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) where many events, gardens, and activities help to connect the community to the center's wealth of diversity.
