Why Utilities "V-Out" Trees
Trees growing into power lines are a hazard to the public and, therefore, are a constant concern for electric utilities. Utilities are obliged to clear trees from power lines. Progressive utilities use the modern arboricultural practice of lateral or directional prunning to clear high-voltage lines.
