Many Hands Make for Light Work After a Natural Disaster - Gulf Coast Tree Assessment Project
A presentation at the Society of Municipal Arborists Annual Conference and Trade Show in Asheville, NC (October 1-4, 2006).This presentation is an overview of the Gulf Coast Tree Assessment (GCTA) project that provided U&CF assistance to communties affected by Hurricane Katrina.
It discusses the development of project partners, implementation of the assessment protocol, results from the data reports, and plans for project improvements.
The GCTA was a partnership between state agencies, professional organizations, volunteer arborists, communities, private industry, and the USDA Forest Service.')
